I am a thirty-something wife, stay-at-home mom, school volunteer, community group leader, writer, scrapbooker, jewelry designer. Oh yeah, and I have this chronic, painful disease called rheumatoid arthritis that tries to take all that away from me. This journal is all about me trying to keep it all together while still living a normal life. (Plus bonus literary quotes! What’s a former English major going to do without her quotes?)

I maintain a blog about the rest of my life and crafting over at Life According to Lisa.

    Hey Lisa,

I’m Deana and live in Lindale, Texas. I saw that over on the RA Warrior site you had listed yourself as living in Tyler, Texas, and being interested in a support group. Does one currently meet?

    • Hello Deana!

I’m not part of a group yet, but just this week found out that there’s a fibromyalgia/RA/lupus group that meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month over at the Presbyterian church on Rusk & College. Here’s a link to their information: Tyler Area Support Group.

Unfortunately for me, they meet right in the middle of school pick-up time, so I won’t be able to attend their group, except for summer. I’ve been talking to a couple of other people that aren’t part of a group here as well that might be interested in a smaller scale group.

If you’d be interested in getting together to chat, just let me know! 🙂

we are interns at the Arthritis Foundation, Northern California Chapter and we are very impressed by the positive messages and thoughtful insights in your blog. We were hoping to get feedback on some questions that are going to be a part of a testimonial project that we are doing in order to increase Arthritis awareness and advocacy by engaging people of all ages and cultures who have had experiences with Arthritis. If you are willing to take the time to answer a few questions that we have, please email us at afncintern@gmail.com. Thank you so much for your time!

Hi Lisa, World Autoimmune Arthritis Day is May 20th (WAAD), and we are planning some events leading up to this first ever 47 hour Virtual Event. I would like to send you a letter with information on how you can be a part of it. We would love to involve you. It is going to be so exciting! Could you please send me your email so I can get the info to you ASAP!

I hope this finds you well. I represent Healthline Networks, and we were wondering if you could include Healthline’s Rheumatoid Arthritis Center (http://www.healthline.com/health/rheumatoid-arthritis) as a resource on your page: https://thethousandteeth.wordpress.com/

Healthline provides a very comprehensive overview of Rheumatoid Arthritis as a critical starting point for individuals and/or their loved ones.

Why you should include Healthline as a resource:

-Video overview of RA by Dr. Paul Auerbach of Stanford Medicine
-A free interactive educational tool on RA: http://www.healthline.com/rheumatoid-arthritis/anatomy-animations#1/what-is-rheumatoid-arthritis?
-Breaking news (ex. http://www.healthline.com/health-news/arthritis-gum-disease-bacteria-worsens-rheumatoid-arthritis-091713) and in-depth, doctor-reviewed content

For more information about our rigorous editorial process, to view our board of directors and more visit the Healthline about page: http://www.healthline.com/health/about-healthline.

Please let me know if you are open to adding Healthline’s RA center as a resource. Thank you in advance for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Warm Regards,
